CLIMATE BIO®

About CLIMATE BIO®

CLIMATE BIO® is an agricultural biotechnology initiative focused on exploring biological approaches to challenges associated with changing environmental conditions and the long-term resilience of agricultural systems.

Agriculture faces increasing demands to maintain productivity while responding to environmental variability, resource constraints, and the need for more sustainable production practices. Biotechnology offers opportunities to investigate crop characteristics and biological processes relevant to these challenges.

Biotechnology for resilient agricultural systems

CLIMATE BIO® focuses on the potential application of biotechnology to agricultural systems, including research and development directions related to:

  • Crop resilience under changing environmental conditions.
  • Biological characteristics relevant to agricultural productivity and resource-use efficiency.
  • Biotechnology approaches supporting sustainable agricultural development.

Integrated agricultural greenhouse-gas platform

Its consolidated research platform considers carbon dioxide (CO₂), livestock methane (CH₄), and nitrous oxide (N₂O). Methane is the primary biotechnology focus, while CO₂ and N₂O are complementary research directions. Proposed applications require experimental validation; they are not claims of proven emissions reductions.

The initiative forms part of Astalake Biosystems, Inc.’s broader biotechnology portfolio, alongside ASTALAKE™ and AFINGEN®.

Its development approach emphasizes scientific research, biological innovation, and the evaluation of potential agricultural applications. Read about the CLIMATE BIO® Platform, or contact us about potential collaborations.
